My Mission
"I have 2 students out of 23 that actually have laptops."

Fifth grade teacher Yohanny Alvarado's claim is not an uncommon one. In light of the COVID-19 crisis, nearly 1.1 million public school students in NYC have transitioned to online learning, and many students in underserved communities lack the proper tools to take part in "distance learning." With their education put on hold, many children are left idle without meaningful academic engagement.

I have established Robotic Seeds as an initiative to give such students a unique supplementary education that is not accessible through distance learning. My goal is to provide elementary school students with do-it-yourself robotics sets in order to encourage collaboration and confidence in the safety of their homes.
As a member of my school's Robotics team, I am able to personally experience both the academic and emotional enrichment of learning how to build robots. Robotics has ultimately taught me to be persistence and resilient as I tackle real-world problems using trial and error (planning and putting together a robot requires immense time, effort, and patience!)
